Monster, Journeys in the Dark

I - Rules

Bane spiders are gigantic arachnids that spit poisonous blood. Some bane spiders, marked with a red hourglass on their back, also hurl sticky webs at their prey.

II - Tactics

Bane Spiders are big but relatively weak and do not represent a real threat for the heroes. However the Web ability of the Master Bane Spiders can be really frustrating for the players if they have no luck with dice. A hero stuck in a web will delay the entire party if they wait for him or will endanger the hero if they leave him behind. The Poison ability can also be nasty if the attack roll is good. Three poison counters on a hero means a wasted healing potion. It is often better for a hero with more than three poison counters in vanilla Descent to let himself die. In the Road to Legend, Bane Spiders' speed increase for each level of the campaign and make "hit and run" attacks more easy.
